This document describes how QS AlcoRhythm works and how data is handled in the app.
1. Who is responsible for the app
App administrator / publisher:
QbaSoft — Usługi Informatyczne Jakub Płużek Brand: QbaSoft For matters related to the QS AlcoRhythm app: qs-alco-rhythm@qba-soft.pl
The mobile app QS AlcoRhythm is a product of the QbaSoft brand.
2. What QS AlcoRhythm is
QS AlcoRhythm helps you log alcohol consumption and observe your weekly rhythm relative to a limit you set.
The app is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or medical advice. It does not diagnose addiction, treat or prevent disease, or monitor health status.
3. Local-first principle
QS AlcoRhythm is designed so that your main data stays on your device.
- In the current version of the app, we do not require a QbaSoft account.
- QbaSoft does not maintain its own database of users’ alcohol entries automatically collected from the app.
- There is no active cloud sync in the current version of the app — if such a feature is added in the future, we will update this document.
- The app may periodically download a small public configuration file from the QbaSoft website (
qba-soft.pl) to decide whether to show an update notice. This request does not include drink entries, your profile, or backups. - Checking whether a newer version is available in the store is done through Google Play.
- You control data on your device and any backup files you create yourself.
4. What data may be processed in the app
Depending on how you use the app, the following may be stored on your device:
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Consumption entries | date, time, drink type, quantity, alcohol strength (in grams or standard-drink equivalents) |
| User profile | nickname, year of birth, weight, sex (if you provide them — e.g. for approximate estimates) |
| Settings | weekly limit, drink-type order, theme, language, notification preferences |
| Notes | optional notes on entries or in the weekly overview (if the feature is enabled) |
| Backup | JSON file created manually or automatically on your device |
The app stores this information in a local database on the device and in the app’s system preferences.
QbaSoft does not receive these entries on its own server during normal use of the current version of the app.
5. Backup, export, and import
The app offers:
- manual export of data to a JSON file,
- automatic local backup on the device,
- import of a previously exported backup.
Backup files are created and stored on your device or in a location you choose (e.g. cloud storage, if you save the file there yourself). These files may contain personal data about alcohol consumption — store them carefully and share them only with people you trust.
QbaSoft does not have access to these files unless you share them yourself (e.g. by emailing a file to support).
You are responsible for the security of your backups and for deciding who to share them with.
6. Premium and payments (Google Play)
The app may offer Premium features unlocked through a subscription in Google Play.
- Payments, invoices, and card details are handled by Google Play Billing — QbaSoft does not directly process your payment data.
- Subscriptions, renewals, cancellation, and trial periods are managed through your Google account according to Google Play rules.
- To support Premium, QbaSoft may receive from Google the information needed to verify subscription status (e.g. purchase identifier, active status) — within the scope defined by Google.
Premium plan details and current prices are shown in the app and in Google Play.
7. Third-party services
Depending on the app version and device settings, the following may be used:
| Service | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google Play / Google Play Billing | app distribution, Premium payments, checking and installing updates |
| QbaSoft website (qba-soft.pl) | public update-configuration file — no user entries |
| System notifications (Android) | local reminders you set — no QbaSoft server |
QbaSoft does not sell user data to third parties for marketing purposes.
The website and app may link to support and contact: qs-alco-rhythm@qba-soft.pl.
8. BAC / blood alcohol estimates
If the app shows estimated blood alcohol values (BAC / promille), treat them only as approximate calculations based on a simplified model (e.g. weight, sex, and entered grams).
- They are not for assessing fitness to drive.
- They are not medical test results.
- They may differ from your actual blood alcohol concentration.

10. Minors
QS AlcoRhythm relates to alcohol and is intended for people who may legally consume alcohol in their country.
The app requires age confirmation on first launch. QbaSoft does not knowingly collect data from children below the legal drinking age.
11. Data security
QbaSoft applies reasonable organizational and technical measures for data it processes (e.g. support correspondence, subscription information from Google).
Data stored locally on your device is protected by your operating system (screen lock, device encryption — if enabled by you).
12. Your rights (GDPR)

For data stored only locally in the app, exercising these rights with QbaSoft may be limited — in most cases you can manage or delete the data yourself in the app or by uninstalling the app.
